Schengen Visa & Requirements
Is travel insurance mandatory to obtain a Schengen visa?+
Yes, absolutely. Travel insurance covering a minimum of €30,000 in medical expenses is mandatory for any Schengen visa application. All consulates (French, German, Spanish, Italian…) require it. Without this document, your visa application will be rejected.
What medical coverage amount is required for the Schengen visa?+
The minimum required amount is €30,000 in medical coverage. However, AssurVoyage recommends choosing a plan covering €100,000 or more for better real-world protection, especially in countries with high healthcare costs (Switzerland, Germany, Norway).
Is my bank card travel insurance (Visa/Mastercard) accepted by consulates?+
Generally no. Bank card coverage is usually rejected by most consulates because it does not provide an official attestation with required details (coverage amount, dates, countries). Only a dedicated travel insurance certificate from an approved insurer is accepted.
Should I subscribe to insurance before obtaining my visa?+
Yes. You must subscribe before submitting your visa application to include the insurance certificate in your file. With AssurVoyage, you can subscribe online and receive your certificate immediately by email.
Must the insurance cover all Schengen countries even if visiting only one?+
Yes. The insurance must cover the entire Schengen Area (26 countries), even if you only plan to visit one. This is a consulate requirement and AssurVoyage policies automatically include all Schengen countries.
Can I subscribe for longer than my planned trip?+
Yes, this is even recommended. You can subscribe for a duration longer than your trip to account for possible delays or extensions. The premium slightly increases but provides complete peace of mind.
Subscription & Certificate
How do I subscribe to AssurVoyage insurance?+
Subscription is 100% online: fill out the quote form with your destination, travel dates and number of travelers, choose your plan, and pay securely. You receive your insurance certificate immediately by email, ready to submit with your visa application.
How quickly do I receive my certificate?+
Your certificate is sent instantly after payment by email. You can print it or present it digitally to the consulate. There is no waiting period.
Is the certificate accepted by all consulates in Morocco?+
Yes. AssurVoyage works with ACAPS-approved insurers. Our certificates are accepted by all Schengen consulates in Morocco (French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch embassies…).
Can I modify my insurance after subscription?+
Modifications are possible before the start date of coverage (destination change, date extension). Contact our team within 24 hours. After the coverage start date, certain modifications may be limited.
Can I subscribe for a group of travelers?+
Yes. You can subscribe for up to 9 travelers in a single policy. This is ideal for families or groups of friends. Each traveler gets their own individual certificate with their details.
